About Jana
I am very glad that you're taking time on getting to know more about me! First of all, HI! My name is Jana and I'm 20 years old. I finished the High School of Music “Mokranjac" (Belgrade, Serbia) as a piano student, in the class of Professor Marko Djordjevic. I received my primary music education at the “Stanislav Binički” Elementary Music School (Belgrade, Serbia), in the class of Professor Bojana Jovanović. During my music education, I achieved many successes at school, national and international competitions:

I have also been a part of a lot of musical festivals. For years, I have been a part of the festival "La Musica in Laguna" in Chioggia, Italy, where I played Beethoven's first piano concerto and Chopin's second piano concerto with their orchestra. There, I have had masterclasses with some of the world renowned professors and pedagogues, such as Maestro Konstantin Bogino, Viktor Bogino, Vladimir Ogarkov, Katarina Nummi, and for many years collaborated with Maestro Konstantin Bogino's student, Borislav Nestorov. I have also performed in The National Theatre in Belgrade, Kolarac hall (Belgrade), Padova (Italy), Munich (Germany), and have been a part of important concerts, such as the celebration of the 120th anniversary of founding of the Music School "Mokranjac" (1899), and solo had a lot of solo performances. I have also played with the "Royal Strings of Saint George" orchestra in The White Palace, as well as in the hall of Music school "Mokranjac" and in The National Theatre.
I have been accepted to the University of Ottawa's School of Music and I have started my studies this year, as one of five newly admitted international students! Also, I speak English, French and Serbian.

If you're looking for someone to help you in your journey of learning how to play the piano, expand your potential, learn theory of music and just enjoy music, I'm the one to choose! Having 13 years of experience in both piano and theory of music, I am fully able to provide you with the knowledge you need to pursue your dreams!
My typical lesson plan (piano):
1. You play to me what you have practiced from our last lesson, and then we talk about it
2. I show you different ways to improve and help you if there is anything that you don't understand or are not sure how to do
3. We agree on what you should bring for our next class, so that you know what to practice for the next few days
My typical lesson plan (theory):
1. We start off with you telling me what is giving you troubles when it comes to theory (if you are a complete beginner, we start with- the beginning!)
2. I explain to you the concepts you don't understand
3. We do some exercises together, so that we are both sure you understood what I explained
4. I give you homework for next time so that you can practice and have continuity in your work.
I am happy to work with any age and level, and I can teach both complete beginners and people with experience!
We will choose the program you will play depending on your level and experience. I will assign you what I think is the best for you and what will make you improve, but I am also open to suggestions! If there is anything you would really like to play, don't hesitate to tell me, I would be happy to accommodate that!
I am very patient, teaching and passing my knowledge to others is my strong point, and I'm also very good with kids (grown up with 3 brothers and one sister as the oldest child :) ) . I believe that music should be taught with love and great amount of patience. Since I had the most amazing teachers throughout my career, I would love to share with you what I have learned from them, and help you make a difference.
