About HUI-LING
As a committed life-long learner who truly loves to be in the classroom, I thoroughly enjoy inspiring people of all ages to love learning as I myself do. Continuous professional development, combined with fourteen years of teaching experience, enables me to confidently deliver an enriching and engaging learning experience.
My piano professional qualification is based on ABRSM Grade 8 and obtained in 2004. Over 15 years of teaching experience since 2004 has been carried on by my enthusiasm and determination to bring my pupils interested in music and the knowledge of music theory.
Professional development has been instrumental in maintaining both my own (and therefore my pupils’) motivation and engagement throughout my English teaching career; culminating in achieving my Masters in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at Leicester University. Following my decision to continue staying in the UK, a certificate in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language with SOAS provided the opportunity to apply my developing skills to teach my native tongue to adults.
*In-person lessons: for all ages
A piano lesson is £35/45min. at my flat,
a Mandarin lesson is £25/an hour at my flat.
The travelling cost will be £5 extra added but will depend on distance.

I had taken the IELTS exam and got 4 scores. I'm a full-time mommy, I don't have much time to prepare the exam. Hui-Ling helped me to understand the IELTS test format in a short time and we practised and reviewed strictly with sample test questions together. She used resources in a variety of ways to help me to learn easily.

The length of a piano/Mandarin lesson can be arranged for a 30min lesson (£25), a 45min lesson (£35) and an hour lesson (£45) at my house. (Extra charge) A travelling fee is £7 per lesson.
