About Maud
With 9 years of piano teaching experience and nearly 300 students taught, I offer lessons that are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals. I work with high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them improve technical skills, musicality, and confidence in performance.
My teaching philosophy emphasises discipline, clarity, and steady growth. I focus on posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, chord transitions, rhythm accuracy, and sight-reading. I also encourage students to explore creativity and connect emotionally with their music.
I adapt lessons to each student’s pace and objectives, providing feedback and setting achievable targets. Many of my students have excelled in graded examinations and performed successfully in recitals, school concerts, and public events.
I aim to create a motivating and positive learning environment where students feel inspired and supported to achieve their full potential as pianists.

My piano teaching approach combines flexibility, positivity, collaboration, and personalised learning. I begin by understanding the student’s strengths, challenges, and goals. Based on this, I design lessons that match their preferred learning style and pace.
I emphasise technical accuracy, including hand coordination, timing control, scale practice, and dynamic expression. I also teach students effective practice methods to improve consistency. When challenges arise, I adjust my explanation and provide supportive exercises.
Collaboration allows students to actively participate in their musical journey. Together, we track progress and celebrate improvements. I maintain a positive atmosphere where students feel encouraged to grow.
Besides piano performance, I teach music theory, harmony, sight-reading, and beginner composition. These subjects deepen musical understanding and enhance performance skills.
