About Elaina
I don’t think the act of learning has to be boring or uninvolved. The arts are about finding ways to express yourself, and making music is a great way to accomplish this goal.
Everyone has a different starting point and different goals for piano, and I also think that there are a lot of practical life skills someone can learn through taking lessons. My job is to guide my students so they understand their goals, give them the tools they need to be able to learn about piano, and show them how to use those tools.
It’s my greatest joy sharing my love of music with others, and it’s my hope that I can facilitate experiences for my students to discover their love for piano, too, so they can then share it with others.

I love teaching, and I love teaching piano specifically. Music is a very special art that allows us to express ourselves individually but also connect with others through sharing musical experience.
I have two degrees in music, and about three years of teaching under my belt. I’ve taught students spanning the ages of 3 and 59, in private and group settings, both online and in person.
The beauty of learning is that everyone starts their journey somewhere different, and we get to figure out where you want to go with your musical journey together. I’ve witnessed students who came in hating piano fall in love with the instrument. I love unlocking students’ passions for playing, and working with them to overcome their mountains in learning.
Some of my students have composed music for marching bands, have performed with Grammy nominated artists, and are even going on to teach piano to others as well.
My teaching method largely depends on the student. Our first lesson will focus on learning about one another and seeing what they know and what they want to learn. From there, I curate a plan that allows the student to grow musically while still meeting their own personal goals.
