About Henry
I began playing piano at the age of seven, participating in music festivals performing works by Rachmaninov and Prokofiev amongst others, before leaving for university where I studied philosophy. After which I began my first foray into playing music professionally as an accompanying flamenco guitarist for singers, dancers and the Steve Homes trio.
After this hiatus from piano, I returned to my first love, now focusing on exploring new (for me) classical repertoire alongside working with a newly formed improvised trio.
I try to take as holistic approach as possible in whatever aspects a student wishes to focus on - if focusing on technique, letting musical context guide them. If studying composition or songwriting, studying technique can open up new horizons, ideas and possibilities. Watching a student develop interests in new aspects of music is one of teaching's great joys!

Private tuition in all aspects of musical study and piano technique, working with whatever goals, dreams or aspirations you have for your relationship with the piano or music in general.
Music can be such a vast and humbling world, and my hope is to make this a source of excitement and discovery whether you're looking to write your own songs or compositions, or delve into the riches of centuries of classical piano repertoire or purely get to know music and the piano on a deeper level to further appreciate the many wonderful performances available to us live or on record.
