About Marcia
Heading to Las Vegas? Or Los Angeles? Or any other popular poker destination? I'm a female poker player who got into the game late in life--and I understand how intimidating it can be to start out, especially being a woman. I made every mistake in the book and eventually learned how to study the game, hone my skills, and win tournaments, both in live games and online games. Since 2016 I've played every year in the World Series of Poker and won prize money frequently. I also play in several tournaments and series around Las Vegas, as well as in cash games in local casinos. My coaching is suitable for beginners. I'm a good entry-level teacher who will enable you to get started without having to pay hundreds of dollars per hour for a more technical and advanced coach. Poker is a great game that will teach you the value of attentiveness and discipline. It's a great way to sharpen the mind.

My lessons are for the ultra beginner who is curious about poker but doesn't know where to start. We will get you comfortable enough to get into a live game in your home town, or in Las Vegas--and perhaps make some money! I keep my prices low and in 3 or 4 lessons you’ll know more than I knew for the first 2 years I played!
Fundamentals: What is the object of the game? What is a winning hand? What happens at a poker table? What is the "poker culture”? What is "variance"? Basic Strategies: Where do I start? How do I know if I should "hold'em" or "fold'em?" How much money do I need to get in a game? How do I identify player types? Why is my position at the table important? How much should I bet?
You will learn about different player styles, as well as strategies for both cash games and tournaments. Poker is a game of skill. There is definitely luck involved, but the skills you develop as a player will help you navigate poker’s many challenges and rewards.
I typically teach over the phone and will text you study tools. We can do video, but I find it’s more effective for you to be looking at documents provided and writing out poker scenarios. This helps your mind absorb the material.
