About Mehak
I am a political science university student with a strong academic background in English, writing, and critical analysis, and several years of experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds. My work as a tutor has allowed me to develop a patient and results-oriented approach to education.
I have worked at Kumon, where I taught and mentored young children, helping them build confidence in math and reading skills. In addition, I have volunteered teaching English to newly arrived immigrants, supporting learners of different ages and language levels as they developed practical English for school, work, and daily life. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to each student’s needs.

As a tutor, my approach is analytical, and tailored to each student’s goals. As a political science university student, I place strong emphasis on clear thinking, strong arguments, and precise language, which are essential skills in both English studies and academic success more broadly.
My teaching method combines guided practice, discussion, and practical examples. I focus on helping students understand why certain writing techniques work rather than memorizing rules. For literature, I teach students how to break down texts, identify themes, and build well-supported interpretations. For writing and resumes, I work step by step on structure, clarity, and tone, with detailed feedback and revisions.
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous work or challenges, followed by targeted instruction (for example, essay structure, thesis development, or literary analysis). We then apply these concepts through exercises such as paragraph writing, text analysis, or resume editing. Each lesson ends with clear takeaways and optional practice to reinforce progress.
What sets me apart is my academic research and writing background in political science, which requires strong critical reading and argumentation skills. I help students not only improve their English, but also learn how to express ideas confidently, logically, and professionally.
