Politics (A Level) and History (GCSE) Teacher Currently studying a Masters in Education student with the University of Southampton Cover Edexcel boards from A Level and GCSE

Last year I found myself struggling with the Russian history expect of the A Level history course. And therefore reached out to an academic tutor for help. More specifically I struggled with the quantity of factual knowledge and found it difficult to maintain. Hannah introduced me to a new way of retaining over arching information that would form the base of any essay or response I wrote. Moreover, she developed some key pieces of knowledge that I would be able to deploy within paragraphs and sentences to further convey my knowledge and understanding of the topic. Hannah tailored specific activities to aid my learning. Through tests and knowledge quizzes, I slowly gained confidence within the topic which shone through in my work. Lastly to ensure I got the highest possible grade, Hannah modified my essay structure. Through this more rigid and adaptable structure I was able to debate and discuss different aspects of Russian History in a variety of ways. This combination of knowledge development and structural change I was able to access higher bands with the mark scheme which contributed to my impressive A Level result.
