About Mike
I have been an IT professional for over 30 years, for most of my career I worked as a freelancer and contractor, which gave me the opportunity to work in many different environments. I have delivered projects on time and in budget for organisations of varying sizes including Microsoft, Dell Computers, McLaren Electronics and Lloyds Bank. I have led teams from 5 to 50 in size, mentoring and tutoring my colleagues along the way. I started out as a C/C++ programmer, moved on to Java then C# and .NET as they were released. Along the way I created a variety of desktop and web applications including two spells working on the software used by F1 and NASCAR racing teams.

I prefer to make things personal when teaching or mentoring. I will always start by finding out what you already know about the topic to be covered then what you want to know, how deep we need to delve into the topic. I like to conduct my sessions like a pair programming task where I pass on the knowledge and experience through practical examples and hands-on coding. I have been a software engineer for over 30 years and have mentored hundreds of colleagues and run hundreds of workshops to pass on my knowledge and experience to colleagues and students. I am a Microsoft Certified Trainer and have delivered hundreds of structured courses to classes of varying sizes. I am comfortable tutoring one-to-one or groups of any size.
