Charlyn has been my piano teacher since 2010. She is an excellent teacher, extremely talented, and knows her gift very well. I recommend Charlyn because she cares, she loves to teach music, and she is an all around nice person. She is very patience, understanding, and kind. Any one will be blessed to have her as a teacher. Charlyn has been a true gift to my family - our sons met her at a home recital 6 years ago ( they were 9 & 7 ) and they were blown away by what she was able to get kids their age to do on the piano . before we made it home ( 3 doors down) they both asked if they could take lessons with her ( neither had ever asked about music lessons -they were too busy with soccer, baseball & video games ).. I told them that if they decided to do this then it would be between them & Charlyn ( of course we’d pay for it but that is it ).,6 years later, they still always make time for piano between soccer, baseball, AP classes, etc. Charlyn has been amazing with our boys - she has taught them a ton, she has been patient, understanding of the realities of busy kids, she has helped them love the instrument , and she has always made it fun & enjoyable for them . Charlyn also commands a level of respect but also respects our kids . She has been incredible to work with and has been patient & understanding with me & the realities of being a parent of busy kids ( she also pivoted immediately once the country went on lockdown & virtual piano lessons were an absolute life saver for our family when all other in-person activities were suspended ). Ps, charlyn is a massively talented musician so we feel grateful that she continues to work with us .. working with her will be one of the best decisions you will make .

I have known Charlyn since we attended college at the University of Michigan years ago and was fortunate enough to take lessons from her in the past 5 years. She is methodical, organized and provides a good foundation for players of any musical interest. She also gets along well with folks of all ages and is very patient. Her background is unique as she is classically trained, grew up playing in church, and is familiar with the Rock & Roll genre from her time at MIT in Los Angeles. I would recommend her to students of any age, interest level, or ability as she is observant enough to know how to teach in a way which will allow that person to learn and achieve their goals with the instrument.
