About Maiya
I am a graduate from the University of Arizona with an emphasis in Health Behavior Health Promotion for both my master's of public health and doctorate (PhD). I have more than 10 peer-reviewed publications in my field and am experienced teaching and mentoring students from middle school through graduate levels of study. Teaching is one of my passions. I like to take a learner-centered approach to our time together. We would meet first to understand your learning objectives and then come up with a plan together that works for both our schedules to ensure you can meet your goals. We can meet regularly if that would help or just do one-off sessions to go through a particular piece of written work. I am experienced in teaching levels from middle school through graduate students at the university level. My background is in public health, but I have taught a number of different science classes like Biology, Chemistry, and basic mathematics so am not afraid of helping support you with scientific writing if you provide me with enough background and help define some technical vocabulary as needed.
