I offer invidually-tailored reviews of coursework assignments, reports/essays and theses (up to Masters level and dependent on subject area).
Tutorials:
I like to make sure the student is comfortable and establish their baseline knowledge on the subject. This is done in a free introductory tutorial through a mix of gentle questioning and exploring key subject concepts, ensuring they have the tools to approach the problem.
It is important to see how the student reasons through their answer, addressing the steps they took and any problems along the way, ensuring they understand any mistskes. Know that mistakes are not a big deal - they show us how to improve!
Above all, it is important to encourage a growth mindset so that the student looks forward to the next lesson and improving their understanding for the future.
