About Sayantika
Hi, I'm Sayantika, and teaching isn’t just my job – it’s my passion. By day, I teach English and Creative Writing at a charity college, where I help students find their voices and tell their stories. By night, I’m a struggling reader and not so struggling writer, crafting slice-of-life stories that explore the little moments that make life beautiful.
I’m deeply inspired by Dead Poets Society – the idea that words can change the world resonates with me every day. I am not sure how many lives we have, but I am sure this life of yours right now is too remarkable for you to not document.
My bookshelf is filled with Asian and Japanese literature, which fuels my love for deep, introspective storytelling. I’m also a regular at poetry workshops and open mics, where I’ve shared my own work and soaked up inspiration from other talented writers.
Whether you’re looking to refine your poetry, craft a compelling short story, or simply find joy in the creative process, I’m here to guide you. Let’s embark on this journey together, and maybe even create our own “O Captain, My Captain” moments along the way!

Master’s Degree in Creative Writing (Distinction!) from the University of Surrey – Yes, I do have a fancy piece of paper to prove I know my stuff.
Specialised in Poetry and Short Stories – Because life’s too short for long novels, right?
Experienced Tutor and Workshop Leader – I've been running writing workshops where we do everything from crafting the perfect metaphor to finding out what your pet goldfish would write if it could type.
