About Elliot
I am a postgraduate research student of early modern history at Oxford, and completed a first class degree in history (modern and medieval) at St Andrews. I devote much of my spare time to reading and writing about English Literature, having been published as a literary critic, and I have taught GCSE and A Level students on everything from spelling to Shakespeare for the last five years, along with history teaching for students aged from 13 to 18.

Whether teaching English or History, I always begin by consulting with the student and their parents to work out exactly what type of assistance they require to reach the highest grades, before comprehensively covering the knowledge and technique skillswork needed. A typical lesson would be 60 or 90 minutes and I have worked with students from 13 to 18 at GCSE and A Level, as well as study skills and academic mentoring work. Classwork is reinforced with both short- and long-term homework and reading tasks.
