About Joseph
With a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, as well as A-levels in Maths and Chemistry, I am well suited to tutoring students in a range of disciplines, in particular, Maths, English, History, Politics, Philosophy and the Sciences.
I also offer tutoring for University entrance exams and assistance with personal statements. Having just graduated this year from Oxford, I am in a prime position to offer tutoring to students looking to apply to Oxford and other elite universities this year.
For anyone studying a humanities subject such as Politics, History or Philosophy at A-level or below, my tutoring would be of particular value. Oxford's training is focussed on producing clarity of thought in complex material, as well as a breadth and depth of knowledge in your subject area. This training enables a teaching style which is both clear and insightful in its explanation of difficult subject matter, and also allows for the contextualisation and depth of discussion that the more difficult topics in Philosophy and Politics require for a full understanding. All of this is vital to not only performing well in exams, but in developing an understanding of the subjects that can be taken forward into University.
Finally, my experience in writing in the analytical style taught at Oxford would be useful to anyone simply looking to touch up their essay writing technique for whatever reason. One off lessons are offered to anyone who simply wants some guidance on a particular piece of work.

Joe gave me informal tutoring sessions over a six-month period on political theory. I found his method of teaching to be very effective; he's patient and a good communicator. He guides you towards figuring out your own answer to a problem rather than prescribing. His lessons always seemed well thought out. He was supportive and always willing to answer emails in detail throughout the week, if I had any questions left over from our session.
