About Matisse

Learn French without living in France? Yes it’s totally possible, and I’m here to show you how !

I’m Matisse, a French teacher passionate about languages and travel. My lessons are friendly, practical, and designed to help you speak confidently from day one, using French in real-life situations with a clear structure so you can progress quickly.

I’ve travelled to more than 50 countries and lived abroad in different parts of the world, which has helped me understand diverse cultures and ways of communicating. This allows me to create lessons that are more human, natural, and tailored to each student.

Lessons are conducted in French, English or Spanish, so you’ll always feel comfortable expressing yourself and learning without pressure.
My lessons are designed specifically for adults and professionals.

About the lesson

With me, you will:
◦ speak French more easily and confidently
◦ expand your vocabulary naturally
◦ sound more fluent and authentic
◦ practise through real conversations and everyday situations

We work with a balanced mix of conversation, listening, and speaking so you develop all your language skills, not just speaking.

If needed, I can also guide and prepare you for official exams such as DELF, DALF, TCF, or TEF with strategies, mock exams, and targeted practice.

My method is simple: practise a lot, get corrected at the right moment, and improve step by step without pressure.

Flexible availability, evenings and weekends included.

Ready to start? Book your first lesson and let’s talk :D

I took a few lessons before travelling to Paris. Besides improving my French, he also shared helpful advice thanks to his experience in a travel agency, which made planning my trip much easier.

Found Matisse on iTalki and honestly, he’s been a total gem. I love that he’s not stuck in the past - he uses cool tech and apps during lessons which makes things way easier to wrap my head around. I travel a ton, so we clicked instantly. What’s really cool is that it’s not just him teaching me; he’s actually curious about the places I’ve visited and we just end up having these great deep dives into different cultures. Every lesson feels super personal and tailored to what I’m actually into, not some boring textbook stuff. If you want a tutor who’s actually a vibe, go with Matisse

Matisse is a fantastic teacher who really knows how to get you speaking. We met through iTalki.
In my case, I had a pretty rough time with previous tutors/teachers, but Matisse hit the mark perfectly. He’s very supportive and never makes you feel bad for a wrong word or a shaky sentence. I love how he keeps me engaged by asking thoughtful questions - I’m basically talking for the entire session! There’s always a sense of genuine curiosity from his side, which makes the lessons feel very natural. He’s definitely a tutor I’m happy to keep coming back to!!
