About Helen
I am a full time primary school teacher and tutor currently working in London. I am from Belfast, in Northern Ireland. I went to University in Manchester and studied primary school teaching specialising in Art and Science. I taught in many different schools. I first started as a teacher during my university placements in early years, year 2 and in a year 5/6 class. I then moved to U.A.E and taught in an international school. I worked with many EAL (English as an additional language) pupils and supported them effectively in literacy.! Then I moved to Birmingham and worked on year 4 (ks2). I have also worked in Belfast in various ks1 roles and also ks3 as a Science teacher. Currently, I am working as a primary school teacher in London for ks2. I have worked as a tutor for over 2 years for both Ks1 and ks2. I am now working as a year 3 teacher in London. I have helped with recap support, phonics and for preparations for examinations. Happy to help up to year 9/10.

I am very interested in mindfulness and wellbeing. I make sure that every student in my class is listened to and I try my best to meet their needs. In my lessons, I have lots of discussion and fun activities.
I have great assessment strategies and make sure I am effective with my questioning and tasks. My modelling has helped many of my students. I am able to make resources fun and easy to use. Children come out of my lessons feeling more confident and happy.
