About Alana
I am a qualified primary teacher with a Master of Teaching (Primary) from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Business and Arts (Psychology) from the University of Queensland. I have experience working with primary school students across NSW public and independent schools, supporting children with a range of learning needs, abilities and interests.
I am passionate about helping children develop confidence in their abilities and build a positive relationship with learning. I am calm, patient and approachable, and believe every child learns differently and deserves to feel supported, encouraged and understood. I aim to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and celebrating their progress.
I understand the importance of tailoring support to each child and working at a pace that allows them to develop genuine understanding and independence. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to nurture their resilience, curiosity and confidence so they can approach learning with greater independence and enthusiasm.

I offer personalised English and Mathematics tutoring for primary school students in Years 1–6, tailored to each child’s individual learning needs, strengths and goals. As a qualified primary teacher with practical experience across NSW public and independent schools, I use explicit instruction, modelling, guided practice and engaging, hands-on activities to build understanding and confidence. I can support students with reading, comprehension, spelling, writing, grammar and mathematical concepts, including problem-solving and number sense. My approach is calm, patient and structured, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing independence. I adapt lessons to reinforce classroom learning, address areas of difficulty and extend students who are ready for additional challenges. Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, with activities and pacing adjusted to suit each student’s age, attention span and learning goals.
