About Spencer
• I am an incoming Plasma Physics PhD student at Princeton University
• I graduated with a degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering and Physics (AMEP) with additional majors in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
• I had a perfect GPA in university having taken many advanced undergraduate and several graduate level courses in Physics and Mathematics
• I also attained straight As for all Science/Math subjects taken in Secondary School (triple science) and JC (PCME), as well as a distinction in H3 Physics
• My understanding of Physics/Math is extremely strong and thorough, and my aim is to help students to build an equally strong understanding as well
• I had taught privately for 2 years at the JC level for both Physics and Mathematics

• I encourage students to learn by deriving and understanding the underlying concepts behind Physics/Math as opposed to rote learning
• The emphasis is on making seemingly complex ideas easy to understand by building a strong foundation of simple ideas and working upwards
• Students will be taught to deconstruct problems into understandable pieces and apply the concepts they learn to solving a wide variety of problems
• In a single lesson, I will spend roughly half (or more) of the time on introducing concepts and ensuring the student actually understands the material before proceeding to problem solving
• If a student is comfortable with the concepts, more time will be spent on problems
