About Tyler
Hey! I've studied trumpet for 9 years, and my achievements include making Colorado All-State Band, Jazz Band, Choir, and Orchestra, as well as first chair for many honor ensembles around Colorado, including All-State Orchestra, CU honor band, and CSU honor band. I've played in concert groups, orchestras, marching bands, jazz bands, jazz combos, chamber ensembles, rock bands, and more! I've taken lessons with several teachers, from college students to college professors to professional trumpet players, and I've always had a love for sharing what I've learned. My trumpet teaching experience includes giving two years of one-on-one private lessons and four years of teaching middle school trumpet (and high brass) sections in class. Students I have coached have made All-State Jazz Band, All-State Band and made numerous honor bands, including principal spots, in Colorado. I have also taught jazz bands, organized and coached several jazz combos, and taught marching band.

My main goals are to make playing effortless and fun! I value your interests and helping you enjoy music, as many periods of development for me have coincided with making sure I pursue interests outside of trumpet, such as sports, theatre, or other instruments, and exploring new genres of music like jazz and pop.
I also teach basic music; I have experience on guitar, bass, piano, and drums and have taught beginning music students, so if you're wanting to start in band, orchestra, choir, or just music in general, I'm happy to give you guidance!
