About Kurtis

Passionate about cooking for over 15 years, I am a private chef and culinary instructor based between Montréal and Québec. My journey took me from Paris to some of the most demanding kitchens in the world — trained alongside Alain Ducasse and Pierre Hermé, and shaped by the standards of the prestigious Maison Dalloyau, with nearly 345 years of history. This experience is not something I keep to myself: I share it with enthusiasm, warmth, and without any pretension.
What matters most to me is that everyone who cooks with me leaves with a smile — and with the desire to do it again. Whether you are a complete beginner or a curious home cook, the atmosphere is always relaxed, welcoming, and inspiring. We learn by doing, by tasting, by talking — never under pressure.
My cooking travels: French, Thai, Mexican, Asian, Creole — I have had the chance to explore very different culinary worlds, and it is that richness I love to pass on. Every lesson is an opportunity to discover new flavors, understand the techniques behind the recipes, and most of all, to genuinely enjoy the experience of cooking.

Trained in Paris alongside leading figures of French gastronomy and prestigious houses such as Alain Ducasse, Pierre Hermé, and Dalloyau, I developed a high-level culinary standard that I now share with simplicity and warmth.

My teaching approach is based on a simple belief: cooking is best learned in a positive, pressure-free environment. From the very first session, we move at your pace, in a supportive and judgment-free space — driven by curiosity, enjoyment, and the desire to learn.

Each class is tailored to you. I take the time to understand your level, your goals, and what draws you to cooking.

A beginner will start with the essentials: knife skills, heat control, and building balanced flavors.
A more experienced cook can refine specific techniques, explore a particular cuisine, or work on a chosen recipe.

There is no fixed program your progress sets the rhythm.

What sets me apart is my ability to make anyone feel comfortable in the kitchen, regardless of their starting point. I have worked in both professional brigades and more intimate settings, drawing from five culinary traditions: French, Thai, Mexican, Asian, Creole, and African — allowing me to adapt to any profile.

Today, I pass on this level of excellence without overcomplication focusing on practical skills, generosity, and the pure pleasure of cooking as the guiding thread. The rest is yours to create.
