About Mercedes
I am an Educator and Therapeutic Musician and have been teaching and playing music all my life.
My mother taught me how to read at 4 years of age so I've always been a quick learner.
I enjoy teaching my students because I love to see their sense of accomplishment and watch them grow.
Music has always been part of me so I naturally play and teach for various setting, be it private lessons, choir or solo performance.

For reading I can teach phonetics.
For math and sciences, I engage with the student, describe the problem and how to solve it step by step. I often relate it to something they already know. This gives my students confidence in the subject until they don't need me anymore!
For music I give exercises to strengthen their technique and some theory for them to understand what they are doing and how music works.
For creative and essay writing, I explain the different types of writing and how to express their ideas on paper.
