About Maire
I'm a bonafide teacher, who works tirelessly to extract the best from my students. If you can ignore my terrible (/excellent) jokes, you'll find a tutor who will always find the most interesting elements of whatever skill or theme we're working on. My students have frequently told me that I've helped them to love English - I truly believe that you need to be shown the best of your subjects in order to excel within them.

With nine years of experience as a private tutor between London, Sarajevo and Berlin, I know how to isolate the strengths and needs of my students with efficiency and positivity. My travels and professional experiences outside of teaching make for an interesting and globally-minded approach to learning.
I have trained and taught English and Religious Studies at secondary level for the past three years, and also work as a GCSE Examiner. I demonstrate excellence in subject knowledge, in the requirements of examination boards, and always keep the bigger picture in mind: where are we going, and how will we get there?
Once we've established our long-term goals, lessons with me are all about the journey. Our goals shape our lessons, and we will frequently pause to reflect upon our progress. I like you to come to lessons with specific questions in mind: whether it's text or skill-specific, we will frequently modify our plans to ensure you feel rewarded and fortified per each session attended. We will always be looking to extend our vocabulary, classify the language we utilise to demonstrate our subject knowledge, and find the most fascinating elements available per lesson focus.
