About Marc

It’s time to finish that screenplay! All you need is a supportive and insightful guide. That’s where I can help. I’ve successfully coached students at every stage of their writing careers, from college undergrads to Pixar animators. A graduate of UCLA’s MFA program, I have over 20 years of professional and academic experience in film and television. I’ve taught students to write feature and short films, animation, and streaming series, and can leverage that breadth of insight to energize your writing process. For over two decades, I've been immersed in the craft of screenwriting, sharing my expertise with students at two of the top film schools in the country, Emerson College and Boston University. My experience spans all levels, from guiding aspiring writers through their first scripts to preparing seasoned students for competitive graduate programs. Past students consistently say they feel supported and challenged — check out my reviews on RateMyProfessors. They love my approach, which brings fresh perspectives on plot, character, dialogue, and story structure. I’m also a working screenwriter with a feature film scheduled for release later this year. While I teach and write in all genres, I’m especially drawn to horror, comedy, and drama. My approach is hands-on and personal: I encourage students to draw from their experiences to create honest, compelling scripts that genuinely reflect their voice. I’m also known for my sense of humor—helped, perhaps, by a past life as an awful stand-up comedian. Whether you're fleshing out a new idea or fine-tuning your script for submission, I’d love to help you find clarity, confidence, and joy in your writing.
