About Katie
I have been a tutor for 5 years now and my students have ranged from 7 year old Spanish students just beginning to learn English, to 35 year old students trying to improve their writing in their graduate business courses. With every student I apply the same amount of care and attention to their writing and learning process. My tutoring philosophy is that learning can only happen when a student feels comfortable making mistakes, which is why my lessons are fundamentally nonjudgemental. And of course, I want us to have some fun!

I adapt my lessons to whatever my student needs. I can develop a curriculum, or go by any textbook you have. If you are learning English as a second language, we can practice conversation, grammar, reading, writing and test taking. If you want to work on your writing as a native English speaker, we can talk about clarity, cohesion, and essay-writing skills. I love peer-editing personal statements for grad school and cover letters.
