About Ricky
Hi, my name is Ricky Schaede! Art is my passion and I love to share the joy of art with others. I am not only an experienced and sought after artist instructor but also a practicing artist. To me, art is an exploration of the imagination, and I love art because it is a world of infinite possibilities. My aim as an instructor is to open this world of infinite possibility up to my students, so that they can explore and create the art they've always dreamed of! All it takes is a bit of hard work, guidance, and creativity.
I have been working as an artist instructor since 2013 and over the years I have honed my abilities and approach. I am able to teach a range of different styles (high realism, cartooning, landscape painting, watercolours, oils, acrylics, manga, wildlife art, and so many more!) for students of all ages. It would be my honour to help you walk the path of creativity and arm you with the tools to achieve your artistic dreams!

I teach art fundamentals, drawing, painting and sculpture for students of all ages and skill levels, from young children to adults. I am a very personable instructor and I make my lessons fun, informative, approachable, and students are always blown away but what they're able to create with a little guidance. I am able to teach virtually and in-person.
Art is a special practice and I believe it is deeply personal, therefore nobody's path in art will be the same.
As a teacher, I aim to work with my students to custom tailor lessons to their own unique creative path. It is very important to start with a foundation of art fundamentals, but from there we are free to explore whatever mediums and styles the student is excited about. I believe the best art is made from a place of self determination, so I never try to force my students into exploring or creating things that don't excite them. I will work with you to help you create the style and subject of art that you've always dreamed of creating. So often I see people go into art and lose that spark of joy because their instructors make them paint the same old boring stuff, but I'm here to help you create what you want to create, and to arm you with the tools to continually take your work to the next level!
