About Lucas
I am a professional bassist and music teacher with over five years of experience helping students of all ages enjoy learning and making progress on their instrument. Originally from Chile, I have completed music studies in Chile, the United States, and finally here in London for the past 3 years where I have established my career by teaching and performing in venues such as Ronnie Scotts and the O2 Empire. I believe that as a musician there is a duty to pass down the knowledge of our instrument so that music keeps moving forward, that is why I love teaching as much as performing.

My approach to teaching is centred on learning songs that you love. By using real music as the foundation, I create personalised exercises drawn directly from your favourite tracks. This way, you’ll build essential skills in technique, rhythm, theory, and creativity while keeping lessons fun and engaging. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, you’ll make progress while staying motivated by the music that inspires you most. The length of the lessons can vary from 30-45-60mins depending on the students preferences. I have been teaching private 1 to 1 lessons and large 70 student classes in schools for the past 5 years to all levels of playing. I have taught students from 6 to 65 years old and have developed an approach that is adaptable and effective because of it.
