About Asia
About the instructor: Asia Bey is a cartoonist and visual storyteller based in Philadelphia Pa. With 10 years experience as a multi-media sequential artist and a teaching artist, Asia has been published with The Nib, Reptile House Comics, and New York City Public Schools. They currently work as a full-time cartoonist and contract teaching artist.

This course is open to adults and children from ages 6 and up! The course itself will be tailored to the student after a preliminary skill assessment. Part one of this course focuses on learning the basics of drawing and designing a story for the overall project. The lessons proceed with: - Basics of illustration - Character Design and Building - World Design and Building - Setting and Stage - Plot and Action - Completing Your Story Part two of this course focuses on the structure and production of the comic itself. The lessons proceed with: -Organization and Sequencing -Formatting and Editing -Editing for Print - Printing Your Comic This immersive course will guide you through every step of building the skills to tell compelling stories, regardless of experience level. With one-on-one attention and materials provided, every student will leave this course with a new skill and work of their own.
