About Hannah
Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a professional cellist from San Francisco, but I’ve been living and working in London for nearly 2 years. I moved to London after having completed my Master's degree in cello performance at the Eastman School of Music, where I was the teaching assistant to Professor Steven Doane. At Eastman, I taught private lessons at the University of Rochester and the Eastman Community Music School, where I taught a variety of ages and levels. When I moved to London to join an orchestral academy programme, Southbank Sinfonia, I continued to teach privately, but I also teach chamber music and strings students at a Southwest London school. I’m a freelance cellist in and around London, having worked with various ensembles such as the BBC Concert Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Glyndebourne Sinfonia, and Southbank Sinfonia. I get to play a variety of chamber music, orchestral repertoire, and opera pit repertoire. I feel very lucky to be playing the cello for a living, and I truly enjoy the opportunity to share this skill through teaching.
