About Christopher
I’ve played cello for over thirty years, and been an active professional musician in Southern California for over twenty years. I am Assistant Principal Cello with the Sea Coast Symphony, a position I’ve held for thirteen seasons, and have maintained a steady and active private studio for twenty years. Although I am classically trained, I have performed in many non-classical settings with multiple bands and singer/songwriters for the past twenty years in venues such as House of Blues Anaheim, The Viper Room, the Whisky a Go Go, and the Coachhouse. I’ve shared the stage as a performer with Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, and have also done recording sessions for John Spiker and John Konesky of Tenacious D. My experience working with singer/songwriters has led to a recent role as a music producer, helping with preproduction for future album releases of local artists regardless of genre.

My goal with each student, regardless of age or level, is to give them the foundations that will help them achieve the goals they want to accomplish while developing a love for composition and/or songwriting. From preparing for collegiate composition studios to performing in front of an audience for the very first time, every student is unique with their own journey with composition and/or songwriting.

This first lesson is free to allow you to get to know your teacher so that they can best meet your needs.

Details
In person lessons, regardless of lesson length, are conducted at my home studio in Costa Mesa, CA.
Online lessons, regardless of length, are primarily conducted via Zoom and Facetime, but I am flexible with other platforms if required and communicated.
Any new family to my studio, regardless of in person or online, are welcome to have a 30 minute trial lesson with me absolutely free of charge. I liken this to a meet and greet for all parties (parents, student, and teacher) to make sure everyone is comfortable before committing to lessons. Please note, if you are interested in purchasing a pack of lessons the trial lesson does not count toward the total amount of lessons purchased.
