About Christian

I am a professional Chicagoland musician and educator. I have been teaching lessons to students of all ages for the past few years. I bring my professional and academic music experience to teaching lessons. I have experience playing and writing for many genres of music, playing piano, keyboards, and organ. I work around the Chicagoland area and am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies at Northern Illinois University.

About the lesson

I approach teaching as a personal process. Every student is different so I make an individualized learning plan for each student. I accept everyone for lessons. We will work on fundamentals, repertoire learning, and other helpful musical tools. For me, lessons are about the student and their development.

My approach to teaching piano is the piano itself. We will work on how the piano works and how to effectively play it and make it sound good. I have studied with many world-class musicians and have many experiences and lessons I have accumulated. I bring things that my teachers have taught me to lessons with others. I make sure to exemplify what I am teaching to students and make sure that lessons help them to grow and learn.

Christian is extremely patient with twins who are eager to be distracted after a long day. He follows up with practice material, communicates on any schedule changes, and my kids enjoy time with him.

Christian's knowledge and experience in music brings interest to his students because he shares music techniques from jazz, classical, pop and rock. He's also familiar with the recent songs students listen to so this makes piano lessons enjoyable.
