About Kristi
I am a musician with a broad variety of skills and experiences. I completed my Bachelors degree Cum Laude at Stellenbosch University. I specialized in Composition and Music Theory and my main instruments were clarinet and conducting. I successfully completed my Masters degree specializing in Composition and Classical Music Marketing. I've written works for soloists, ensembles, choirs and orchestras (including the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra). I've also scored music for films, some of which aired on KykNet, advertisements, and video games.
My performance history includes performing as a soloist with orchestra, travelling Europe with an ensemble, playing in numerous orchestras across the country and singing in choirs winning world class international competitions.
I am quite a versatile musician and I am sure that I would be able to help you with your music education.

I follow a learner-centered approach. I believe that each student requires a unique teaching approach that is suited to their learning abilities. I always try to teach music to foster conceptual understanding and I use many of the International Baccalaureate Curriculum's philosophies to support this style of teaching. This method ensures that learning is done optimally and remains relevant for the student.
