About Mason
I have been teaching Mandarin professionally since 2016, and speaking it fluently as a first language for my whole life. I've taught students of all experience levels, and I've had great success with my style as a dialect coach. Since 2017, I've been coaching actors in Hollywood on their accents and Mandarin for their roles in TV and film. My approach is noticeably different and more effective than traditional Mandarin teachers, because I focus more on speech mechanics and comprehensive explanations, rather than traditional book learning.

My lessons focus a lot on improving my students' Mandarin speaking skills. I cultivate my students' vocabulary, pronunciation, fluency, and appreciation for the Chinese language. My years as a professional dialect coach in Hollywood make my teaching methods far more effective than most Chinese tutors at improving the speaking and pronunciation skills of my students. I teach all levels of Mandarin speaker, ranging from new students to college and professional level Chinese learners.
