As a former tattoo artist and 3D animation and visual effects student, my approach to teaching sketching and drawing is rooted in strong technical foundations, observation, and creative development. Being largely self-taught before pursuing formal studies allows me to understand both structured academic learning and independent artistic growth. I teach students how to truly see before they draw — focusing on light, shadow, proportion, composition, and intentional mark-making.
My teaching methodology combines academic fundamentals with practical artistic application. We work on black and white drawing, black and grey rendering, hatching techniques, pointillism, light study, and tattoo flash design when relevant. I break down complex visual concepts into simple, repeatable steps, making technical skills accessible without removing creative freedom. I also explain materials in depth — from pencils and paper types to ink and shading tools — so students understand not just how to use them, but why.
A typical lesson begins with observational exercises to train the eye (basic forms, light mapping, value scales), followed by guided practice focused on a specific technique such as shading, hatching, or composition. As students progress, we develop more personal projects -always reinforcing structure, contrast, and visual clarity. I provide direct but constructive feedback, helping students refine both precision and artistic voice.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my dual perspective: professional tattoo experience combined with 3D animation training. I teach drawing not only as an art form, but as a visual language used in design, tattooing, and digital production. I prioritize discipline, technique, and creative confidence equally. My goal is to build strong foundations that allow students to evolve independently.
Lessons are open to beginners, intermediate artists, and aspiring tattoo artists or animation students who want to strengthen their drawing fundamentals. I adapt to different levels — whether someone is discovering sketching for the first time or refining black and grey rendering for professional goals.
My classes are structured, focused, and professional — while maintaining a relaxed, supportive atmosphere that encourages experimentation and growth.
