About Brian
I grew up loving art and creating and even though I had somewhat of a natural ability and interest in art at an unusually young age, I did not develop into the artist I am today until after I attended art school. I learned not just what things look like but the science of it all and how to break it all down into digestible bites. A few lessons that made the most difference in my skill level I would be able to show you. I got a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art with a double professional emphasis in Commercial Art and Photography and went on to get a Master's Degree in Fine Art with an emphasis in Illustration. Since graduating in the mid-90's I have worked as a professional Graphic Designer specializing in logo design and branding and continuing to create fine art illustrations for exhibits and contests. I've been published dozens of times in both art and design publications and have won several awards in international exhibits.

Before you can learn to draw, paint or illustrate you have to learn how to see. I will teach you to learn to draw with value and not lines by teaching you the value scale, how much pressure to apply and how to accomplish various texture, as well as perspective, composition, the science behind a lot of what you see and what is happening around you, how objects or subjects relate to things around them, and basically just the math of the world. Like any other skill it's just about developing the right muscles. Anyone can learn to draw and paint and learn to do it well, no matter what level you are currently at. Be easy on yourself.
