I am Iván D. Mayor, a professional golf coach with decades of experience teaching athletes, juniors, and adults. My approach combines golf technique, mental training, body awareness, concentration, and principles developed through my lifelong experience in martial arts and Zen.
I currently teach in Broward County at Cooper Colony Golf Course and SpringTree Golf Club. I also offer private golf instruction at Bonaventure Country Club in Weston, primarily on Wednesdays. My instruction includes private and semi-private training in Full Swing, Short Game, putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, and course strategy.
I developed my own Short Game System and Zen in Golf Mental Training, combining technique with concentration, breathing, decision-making, confidence, and mind-body control. My goal is not simply to improve a student's swing, but to help each golfer develop a consistent and controlled game.
I also organize and coach adult golf league programs and junior golf events in Broward County, creating opportunities for players to develop their skills through instruction and competitive experience.
My training is personalized for each golfer—from beginners learning the fundamentals to experienced players seeking greater consistency, lower scores, and stronger mental control on the course.

My golf lessons are personalized to each player's level, goals, and experience.
We begin by evaluating your game and identifying the areas that will produce the greatest improvement. From there, I develop a practical training plan covering Full Swing, Short Game, putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, course management, and scoring strategy.
A key part of my teaching is my Short Game System, designed to help golfers develop better control, consistency, and confidence around the green.
I also incorporate Zen in Golf Mental Training, using breathing, concentration, body awareness, emotional control, and decision-making to help players perform with greater confidence and consistency under pressure.
Lessons are available for beginners, intermediate and advanced golfers, as well as juniors and adults. Private and semi-private instruction is available at Cooper Colony Golf Course, SpringTree Golf Club, and Bonaventure Country Club in Weston.
Training goes beyond the lesson. Students can also have opportunities to put their skills into practice through the Zen in Golf Adult League, with tournaments held regularly on weekends at golf courses throughout Broward County, as well as through junior golf events and competitions designed to help younger players gain real on-course experience.
My goal is simple: better technique, better decisions, greater confidence, and lower scores.

Details

The free 30-minute first session is an initial golf assessment to discuss your goals, evaluate your current game, and identify the areas where you can improve.
Private lessons are $85 per hour. A 5-hour package is $400 and a 10-hour package is $750. Online coaching is available at $60 per hour.
Lessons are personalized according to each player's level and goals. Practice balls, range fees, or golf course fees, when applicable, are not included in the lesson rate.
