About Rachel
I have been working as a designer professionally for 5 years in LA. Recently, I have shifted my focus to becoming a full-time fine artist. I specialize in colored pencil, graphite, pen, painting, collaging, and graphic design.
I believe there is so much more than just a beautiful piece to come out of creating art. My daily creative practices have given me organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills that other subjects had failed to instill in me. I can confidently credit my artistic endeavors for the tenacity and perseverance I possess today.
I am a multidisciplinary artist, and have many skills outside of my specialty including:
- marker illustration
- digital illustration
- jewelry making
- photography
- web design
- printmaking

Back in 2021, I visited the Portland Museum of Art (Maine) and happened to be looking at a very large, remarkable screen print from Richard Estes. I was fascinated by the style and realism of his work. A young lady happened to be standing nearby, and we struck up a conversation. She was able to provide me with an even deeper understanding of the painstaking process and precision that Mr. Estes had to employ for the works that were on display. When I inquired how she knew so much about the work and the techniques he employed, she informed me of her studies and training at the University of Delaware where she received a degree in Fine Arts for Visual Communication Design. We talked quite a bit not only about the work in front of us, but also other gallery pieces. I was very impressed with not only her knowledge but her communication skills in breaking things down so someone like me can get an even deeper and more meaningful appreciation of the work that goes into creating works like Mr. Estes had done. And now years later, I understand this young lady – Rachel Scheetz – is looking to further educate/guide others and provide lessons online. As I enter retirement, I have already reached out to her as I am interested in learning and growing in the arts. She definitely left an impression on me even in just the hour we happened to bump into each other years ago, but I never forgot how inspiring and personable Rachel was. And when we spoke not too many weeks ago, she also remembered that day in Portland, ME! I was shocked and pleased that she recalled our discussion. If you are looking for your own guide to grow and learn, I highly recommend speaking with Rachel. She is the real deal!!
B. James, North CarolinaI met Rachel while perusing a Fine Arts degree alongside her, and she is a true talent and excellent teacher. She has a wonderful collaborative sprint, is curious, thoughtful, and extremely creative. She is the person I would turn to when I had questions or wanted solid, helpful feedback. She is one of the most talented visual artists I know, and if I had the opportunity to be tutored by her, I would jump at the chance!
