About Rylan
With over 7 years of teaching experience, I help students explore guitar and composition. I earned a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance (Contemporary Styles). My lessons prioritize writing and arranging original music. Students work on projects suited to their goals. Each session integrates harmonic principles and chord variations. Melody creation is emphasized in every lesson. Counterpoint techniques are included for depth. Students practice recording their musical ideas. I have guided beginners, intermediate learners, and professional composers. Lessons combine skill development with creative exploration. I encourage innovation and expressive experimentation. Analysis of works supports their personal projects. Teaching adapts to individual learning approaches. Learners develop independence in improvisation and composition. Both technical proficiency and musical expression are cultivated. Every lesson inspires creative growth. Students leave with strategies for original music creation. I aim to make guitar study exciting and rewarding. Join me to start creating compositions that are uniquely yours.

My lessons focus on helping students perform confidently in bands and ensembles. We emphasize ensemble skills, musical communication, and listening. Students learn to adapt and contribute effectively while playing with others. Stage presence, confidence, and performance etiquette are included in every session. Fingerstyle learners and late starters gain opportunities to excel in group settings. Lessons include improvisation, arranging, and collaboration exercises. Students practice timing, dynamics, and interaction with other musicians. Live performance simulations are a regular part of lessons. Each session is tailored to individual goals while promoting teamwork. Students explore highlighting their voice while supporting others. Technical skills and creative expression are developed together. I guide learners in managing nerves and connecting with audiences. Lessons focus on leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving in musical contexts. Students gain practical experience performing in front of peers. Each session builds confidence, skill, and stage presence. Students leave ready to perform with energy and professionalism. I emphasize creativity, practical skills, and ensemble awareness. By the end, learners can perform confidently both solo and in a group.
