About Abdulrahman
I am a professional tutor with 5 years of teaching experience, a strong engineering background in Mathematics and a genuine passion for teaching it well.
My background combines two things that most Maths tutors offer separately: deep subject knowledge and structured teaching methodology. Through my degree I work with the kind of mathematical rigour — proofs, algorithms, formal reasoning — that sits above A-Level and makes the curriculum feel approachable by comparison. I have also trained students for USACO (the USA Computing Olympiad), one of the most demanding competitive programming competitions, which requires advanced mathematical problem-solving under pressure.
In lessons, I am patient, direct, and honest. I don't give students false reassurance — if there's a gap, I tell them clearly and we address it. Parents consistently find that this approach leads to faster, more durable progress than generic encouragement.
I take a small number of students at a time so that every student receives a properly structured, personalised plan rather than a generic set of worksheets. Before our first paid lesson, I offer a free diagnostic session so we can identify exactly where to focus.

My lessons are built on one principle that most tutors skip: understanding before technique.
The majority of students who struggle with Maths aren't struggling because the subject is hard — they're struggling because an earlier concept was never properly explained. I find that gap and fix it, then the rest falls into place quickly.
Every lesson follows a clear structure:
— 10 min: Review of the previous session and any questions from homework or classwork
— 30 min: Focused work on the current topic, explained from first principles with worked examples
— 20 min: Exam-style practice questions, timed where appropriate, with instant feedback
I cover the full Maths curriculum across GCSE (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and A-Level (Pure, Statistics, Mechanics). For GCSE students I focus on securing Grade 7, 8, and 9 — not just passing. For A-Level students I work on the conceptual depth that examiners are actually looking for, not surface-level formula application.
Beyond school Maths, I have experience in competitive programming (USACO level), which sharpens the kind of logical and algorithmic thinking that directly strengthens performance in A-Level Further Maths and Computer Science.
