About Joel
I grew up in Australia and Asia. In 2010 I completed my Bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre at the University of Ballarat's Academy of Arts in Victoria, Australia. I also completed my Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) examination in classical singing at the highest level. I have performed on many different stages in Australia, Asia and Europe. I currently live in Berlin!
I have performed in 'The Producers', 'Chess', 'Godspell', 'The Pirates of Penzance' and 'Songs for a New World' amongst others. From 2014-16 I performed as Swing in the Australian and international tours of Cameron Mackintosh's 'Les Miserables'. I then performed in 'My Fair Lady' directed by the incomparable Dame Julie Andrews at the world famous Sydney Opera House. From 2017 I took on the role of Freddy Einsford-Hill. In 2018-19 I toured the UK, Ireland, Germany and China with 'Titanic: The Musical'.
In 2021-23, while working as an ensemble member at the Landestheater Linz, Austria, I played in 'As It Is in Heaven', 'Priscilla: Queen of the Desert', 'Titanic: The Musical' (Frederick Fleet), 'Fanny and Alexander' (Cover Ismael), 'Anastasia' (Count Ipolitov / Tsar), 'Catch Me If You Can' (Dollar), 'Natascha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812' (Andrej / Bolkonski) and the anniversary concert BÄM. As a guest actor, I played in 2023-24 in 'School of Rock' and 'The Queens'. In summer 2024, I appeared in the ensemble of 'Mary Poppins' at the Thunerseespiele in Switzerland.
