About Lumi
With 9 years of piano teaching experience and nearly 300 students taught, I provide structured, motivating, and goal-oriented lessons. I work with high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them strengthen technical skills, develop musicality, and gain confidence in performance.
My teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, discipline, and steady improvement. I focus on posture, hand coordination, finger strength, scales, chord transitions, rhythm accuracy, and sight-reading. I also encourage students to express themselves creatively through music and connect emotionally with their pieces.
Lessons are tailored to individual learning styles and goals. I provide regular feedback and set clear objectives to monitor progress. Many of my students have achieved excellent results in graded examinations and performed successfully in recitals, school concerts, and public events.
I aim to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel motivated, inspired, and capable of achieving their full potential in piano.

My piano teaching methodology is designed around communication, creativity, flexibility, and steady confidence building. I believe that piano learning should be clear, supportive, and inspiring. I begin by strengthening the fundamentals, including posture, relaxed hand movement, finger independence, rhythm accuracy, and proper note reading.
I explain each topic in simple and practical language so students understand not only how to play but also why each technique matters. Communication is central in my lessons. I encourage students to share their musical interests and challenges openly. I provide clear demonstrations and helpful feedback to guide improvement.
Creativity helps students connect emotionally with music. I include expressive interpretation, improvisation exercises, and small creative projects to develop imagination. Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson plans according to individual goals, whether exam preparation, performance training, or personal enjoyment. Along with piano skills, I teach music theory, harmony, ear training, and sight reading to build complete musicianship. My goal is to develop confident, expressive pianists.
