About Rumen
I'm a mid-level software developer with over three years of commercial experience, currently working at IMP Software where I develop enterprise applications using C#, ASP.NET, and SQL. My background spans both NHS and private sector environments, giving me a well-rounded perspective on software development. What sets me apart as a tutor is my daily experience mentoring junior developers in my current role. I understand the challenges beginners face because I guide new team members through them regularly. My approach is patient, structured, and focused on building genuine understanding rather than just memorising code. I hold multiple certifications including Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals and PRINCE2 Foundation, demonstrating my commitment to continuous learning. My journey into programming wasn't traditional - I transitioned from a completely different field through dedicated study and practical application, so I truly understand what it's like to start from zero. My teaching philosophy centres on practical, hands-on learning. We'll build real projects together, not just theoretical exercises. I believe programming should be approachable and enjoyable, and I'm passionate about helping others discover the satisfaction of creating software that actually works. I welcome students of all ages, including children and teenagers who are curious about technology. My patient teaching style adapts well to younger learners, making complex concepts accessible through age-appropriate examples and engaging projects. Whether you're exploring programming as a career change or simply want to understand how technology works, I'm here to guide you through those crucial first steps with patience, clarity, and professional insight.
