About Helena
Hello! I'm Helena, I'm currently a 2nd year Music Undergraduate student at the University of Manchester.
The Flute is my main instrument which I started playing over 10 years ago, although loosely following the grades system, I didn't take official exams until my A level recital, I therefore feel the value of learning for the joy and love of creating music. I have, however, gone through the more traditional ABRSM grades route, and completed grade 8 Piano, so am familiar with the system.
I have gone through the British music education system, therefore have insight into the workings of the system and can empathise with students at any level of their education, whether beginner or applying for music courses at British universities.
I have worked as a tutor at Youth Orchestra residentials, teach small-size classes, and having taken part in these as a student, it gave me an insight into how important teachers are in making a positive impact on students.

I can offer lessons for beginner to intermediate 1-to-1 lessons on flute and piano, either preparing for grades or independent pathways.
I can help prepare students for music theory exams and GCSE and A level.
I have experience tutoring at Youth Orchestra residentials, and have been Enhanced DBS checked.
