About Michael
I'm a professional engineer that did dual degrees in mathematics and computer science. I've spent 7 years working as a professional software developer (including at Amazon and AT&T) -- where I've worked on everything from physical datacenters to fancy math power machine learning.
As a student, I tutored math at my university and as a professional, I now mentor junior engineers.
In my career, I've developed a number of workplace trainings -- ranging from software best practices to deep dives on the technical side of complilers.

My teaching method is based on the Socratic method: I ask probing questions to help a student better clarify and understand the problem.
My experience suggests that this helps in two ways:
- It forces students to think through "why" things work;
- It prepares students for the real world, where defining problems is the "hard work".
