About Martia
Hello I'm Martia and I can't wait to meet you!
I’m a professionally trained actor and drama educator with a rich blend of industry and teaching experience. I hold an MA in Acting from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and over the past six years, I’ve worked across stage and screen as a performer, writer, and coach.
As a writer-performer, I created a one-woman show that premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it received five-star reviews. I have also performed at venues including the Southwark Playhouse, Royal Court, and VAULT Festival.
Alongside my performance work, I have assisted on audition panels for local theatre companies, giving me a strong understanding of what casting professionals look for and how to help actors present their best selves in the room.
I’m also a PGCE-qualified Drama teacher, with in-depth knowledge of both the practical and theoretical components of the subject at GCSE and A Level. I support students with all aspects of the course, including: Devising (process, performance, and evaluation) Scripted performance (monologue and group work) Written exams (text analysis, practitioner theory, live theatre reviews)
My approach combines professional industry insight with classroom expertise, helping students grow in confidence, technical skill, and creative expression—whether they’re working towards exams, auditions, or personal development.

I've known Martia for several years and can confidently say she is kind, reliable, and great at explaining difficult concepts clearly. She genuinely cares about helping others learn and would always create a supportive environment. She is particularly skilled at English language and literature. Highly recommended as a tutor!
Martia is a warm, approachable tutor who takes the time to understand her students’ needs. Her experience in secondary education, speaking a 2nd language herself, and cultural awareness allow her to connect with and support a wide range of learners. She creates a confident, encouraging space where students feel heard and motivated to reach their goals.
Martia is a wonderfully warm person who takes time to really understand the needs of her students. She is highly qualified and has experience teaching in secondary schools. She makes you feel confident and gently encourages you towards your goals.
Martia has an enthusiasm & passion for teaching which is so encouraging & motivational. She is a great listener & sensitive to her students individual needs & learning styles. Martia really cares about people.
I first met Martia at the Edinburgh Fringe where she was performing her sell out one woman show. The ability to hold the attention of an audience in an hour long monologue is the exact same quality she brings to her tutoring, she is engaging, patient , not to mention highly qualified and has that innate ability to make even the mundane seem captivating..
I would 100% recommend Martia! She's understanding, patient, and always willing to answer any questions I have. Martia is really knowledgeable and encouraging and makes her lessons very engaging.
