About Lily
Violin has been my main instrument for composing and performing. I own a 5 string, so I can explore Viola repertoire as well. I adore the instrument and the practice, and I am constantly pushing to find new ways of expressing with it. I'm very informed by Irish folk and modern rock music as well as classical, Arabic Maqam, Indian Raga, and am now sinking my teeth into the New Music world.

I was thrown into classical violin when I really wanted to learn fiddle. Over the course of my career, I have learned how passion-driven practice is so important. My technique grows the most when I am playing pieces from all sorts of genres, and I bring the same ethos to my students. I use the Suzuki books as a classical, sight-reading and theory training to start, and then I branch out from there. I don't emphasize the Suzuki method because reading music is too important as a musician for me to leave out.
My violin and viola lessons are for all levels, beginner, intermediate, or advanced, or weirdos who want to put their violins through guitar pedals and see what happens : )
For cello, I am a beginner myself! I picked up cello a year ago and have been loving it. I am familiar and advanced enough to teach beginner to intermediate cello.
