About Emily
I am a passionate violin tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching young children. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance (Baroque Violin). My background shapes my focus on tone and expressive playing. I love introducing children to music in a fun and engaging way.
Ear training is central to my teaching approach. I help children develop strong listening skills from the beginning. Through repetition and imitation, they build confidence naturally. This foundation supports all aspects of their musical growth.
My lessons include storytelling, rhythm games, and movement. Children learn through play and creative exploration. Simple melodies help develop musical memory and confidence. Each lesson is designed to feel enjoyable and rewarding.
I draw inspiration from Suzuki and Kodály-inspired methods. My teaching is structured yet flexible and creative. I aim to create a positive and encouraging environment. Violin learning becomes joyful, imaginative, and full of musical discovery.

My violin teaching approach is centered on both technique and expression. I help students feel comfortable and confident in their playing. Vibrato is an important focus in my lessons. I teach it in a clear and natural way.
We start by learning the basic motion. I guide students to move freely without tension. Then we explore how to control vibrato speed and width. This helps shape a more refined tone.
Listening is always important in my lessons. Students learn how vibrato adds emotion to music. We apply it to simple pieces first. Then we build towards expressive phrasing.
I support students with encouragement and clear feedback. They learn to trust their sound and express themselves. Each lesson is structured but flexible. My goal is to help them play with warmth, control, and confidence.
