About Tek
My name is Tekyi, and I am a music educator, violin tutor and musician. I have many years of experience teaching music, and making music with people in chamber ensembles, bands, orchestras and solo as well.
(Notable experiences : Premiered a string quartet in the UK by Anna Vienna Ho (The Forester) and was broadcast live on HongKong Radio)
Performed as a member of the Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Michael Seal, Daniela Rosina and more)
Music is a language which everyone in this world understands. I have had many teachers throughout my experience, with Edward Pople from Australia (A student of the Joseph Gingold), Nathaniel Vallois from France (during my years of study in UK) and Bartosz Woroch from Poland. All have given me various insights, ideas, and experiences in regards to music and in life.
I chose to be a teacher to help guide students towards their passions, to find a voice or something to help express themselves better. After all, music can describe certain something when words can not.

I teach accordingly to my students’ preferences; as I was trained by various tutors of different places in the world and backgrounds. Whether you prefer the ‘traditional’ stylistic performance of baroque music to modern jazz fiddling styles, I offer my service to help guide you through your musical journey.
I had taught students from the age of 3 to 32, and I usually teach about 45 minutes for younger students and about an hour + for adult students. Throughout my teaching career, I always incorporate different approaches when learning something, introduce different genres of music to my students, experimenting & exploring together to find what might be best for my students, and many more. Any age is welcomed to learn and I am looking forward to meeting you. :)
