I have over 20 years of experience in all areas of English language learning. I can promise that any student who comes to me with personal motivation and the desire to learn will improve. I employ a variety of methods and this is guided by the learning style(s) of the student. I will do my utmost to make sessions lively and engaging.

My background in the ESL/English field is extensive. I have taught ESL and, in addition, English for native/near native speakers, history and literature. I worked at international schools in Vietnam and Burma from 1999 until 2008 and taught ESL as well as content courses such as history and literature. I also taught English for native/near native speakers. My students were from upper primary through grade 12 to adult. I also helped to prepare students for university study abroad. This included additional focus on Academic Writing and preparing students for TOEFL and IELTS.
From 2008 until 2016, I was a leader of English training programs in Iraq, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. Recently, I was the Academic Coordinator of an English program for Saudi Naval Academy personnel and supervised a staff of 24 U.S and British ESL instructors. In Iraq and Afghanistan, I had similar duties which also included classroom teaching and tutoring students who were having difficulty.
I hold a Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. My grounding in linguistics and grammar is strong and I am able to provide excellent assistance to anyone in need of this particular skill set. Tutoring has been a very important part of all of the positions I have held and has included arranging tutoring on a program scale and personally providing tutoring for students.
