-Over 30 years teaching experience, including 22 years as a professor at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis.
-A creative and ambitious instructor. My approach is to find interesting, absorbing and memorable ways for you to learn and use the language.
-While not a native speaker, I have traveled extensively in Spanish-speaking countries and have lived in Spain and Argentina.

-I mostly teach college level, but I'm eager to work with any serious student who has clear goals. Our lessons will be molded to your objectives and to the kind of materials you want to work with. I have a wide range of materials at my disposal and can also work with materials you bring to the table.
-Expertise in all areas of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading, writing, plus literary and cultural knowledge. Each of this skills presents different challenges for different individual learners.
-I strive to make grammar and structure a useful, engaging, relevant part of learning. For me, grammar is an essential and beautiful part of any language.
